Special Collections and University Archives at the University of Maryland support the educational and research mission of the University. These collections enrich scholarly opportunities for the University's Students, faculty, and staff, as well as those of the state, national, and international communities.
Literary collections in Special Collections and University Archives include both book and manuscript holdings that document the lives and work of significant literary figures. Manuscript collections include correspondence, papers relating to published and unpublished literary works, publications, photographs, and memorabilia.
Hornbake Library is located on University of Maryland’s College Park campus. This library is home to the Special Collections and University Archives. Our collections cover a wide range of topics that enrich scholarly opportunities for the University’s students, faculty, and staff as well as those of the state, national and international communities.
The Maryland Room, located on the first floor in Hornbake Library, is the reading room for Special Collections and University Archives. We welcome students, faculty, visiting researchers, and the general public to visit the Maryland Room to consult our collections.
