Alice Illustrated Around the World
Alicia en el País de las Maravillas.
[Alicia in the Land of Wonders].
Translated into Spanish by Juan Gutiérrez Gili.
Illustrated by Lola Anglada.
Barcelona: Editorial Juventud, 1942.
Alice is a young and friendly little girl with nothing really strange or threatening in Anglada’s congenial view of her and the Wonderland characters. Gili’s was the first complete translation of Alice into Spanish, originally published in 1927, as were Anglada’s illustrations.
