Early Books
Liese im Wunderland.
Translated into German by Helene Scheu-Riesz.
Illustrated by Maria Hofrichter.
Wien and Leipzig: Konegens Jugendschriftenverlag, [1919].
In this second German edition, Alice is called Liese, a German variation of Elizabeth. The cover art is by Mela Köhler. Lewis Carroll’s name is misspelled on both the cover and the title page, which is not an uncommon occurrence in translations.
