Every year, Special Collections & University Archives staff work together to create relevant and interesting exhibits on topics that are of interest to the University, the community, and to scholars.
“Beyond the Battle: Bladensburg Rediscovered” is our featured gallery exhibit and was open to the public in August 2014, just in time for the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Bladensburg. We joined the rest of the State of Maryland in celebration of the War of 1812 and the Star Spangled Banner. This website is meant to provide a surrogate for those who cannot make the trip to see the exhibit in person.
